Legacy:  It’s what we leave behind.  But it is more than a set of china dishes, a diamond ring or a stock portfolio.  A legacy represents how we live.  In the Old Testament, scripture gives an account of King Solomon, the wisest and wealthiest man that has ever lived. Throughout the book of Ecclesiastes, Solomon concludes that even with all his wealth and material provision life was empty and meaningless. He pursued the wrong things and he came up short.  He had the chance to make a huge impact and he blew it.

We don’t want to blow it.

In May 2005, a fire ravaged our Children’s Building and administrative offices.  While this tragedy was significant in the life of our church, it has given us a new opportunity to create an even greater legacy, locally and around the world.  In August, 2006 we broke ground on a 44,000 square foot Family Building which is scheduled to be completed in August, 2007.  The Family Building represents a place where lives will be changed and our legacy will continue.

And so in April 2006, we began a three year stewardship journey that gives our church the opportunity to cooperate with God in funding a project that will outlast us.  But it’s not about the bricks and mortar, it’s about the people.  For fairly obvious reasons, we are calling our campaign Legacy.

If you are not currently participating with us on this incredible journey, whether through a one time gift or on-going support, we encourage you to pray and ask God how he would want you to be involved in leaving a legacy that will endure forever, and change people’s lives.

“I know that everything God does will endure forever.”
